Where we talk about what we do and love

2014 Roundup

2014 Roundup

Ryan Shelton, Jan 3

What a year 2014 was. We worked non-stop since January on a range of exciting projects.

We designed an updated 2014 version of The Open Championship app for the R&A (iPhone and iPad) with our friends at Future Workshops. The app reached the #1 spot in the free apps category on the App Store with over 500k downloads and was promoted and featured by Apple.

“Every year, we look at how golf fans’ experience at The Open could be even better. This year, we piloted the biggest UK installation of iBeacons at a sports event to give fans on the 3rd hole the ability to see which players are on the hole, who they’ve missed, and who they should stay in the the grandstand for. Fans told us it was an excellent way to be in the know (and to keep the best seats!). We also added iBeacons to the gates to help the R&A welcome fans to the Royal Liverpool Golf course the minute they approached the gates.”

We worked on new, native versions of Saudi Telecom’s My STC App for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone which offers users greater flexibility and ease of use when managing their STC accounts – wherever they are in the world.

Designed a new app for a Saudi Ministry (non-disclosure in place) that will touch every person living in the Kingdom.

Worked on a bunch of apps we can’t show or talk about (argh!). Produced exciting prototypes for new, upcoming apps.

And… we released our London bus tracker app Jump which went on to win a couple of design awards and get featured on a number of different news portals. My favourite being TNW’s fantastic article.

I became a dad to the best little boy in all the lands and life changed forever.

2014 was indeed an epic year. Thanks to our families and all our clients for working with us. 2015 is going to be the best year yet!
